My name is Yanxiao. I am a designer specializing in graphic design. Most of my experience is related to communication design - particularly, storytelling, translating, illustration, and doll making.

Beyond graphic design, I interested in the thing cross different majors. I interested in motion graphic, 3D model, animation, crafting and fine art.

My passion is to explore the true value of the object and its inner spirit. Part of my master's is to study the relationship between people and objects. I believe everything is spiritual and valuable. The emotions and memories during the making process and using period produce through the interactions of people and objects play an essential role in day to day life.

For over a year I provided great tutoring and teaching services at Victoria University of Wellington. I worked as a tutor for communication design. Mainly for typography, graphic design, and branding. As a tutor, identifying the personal interests and addressing the individual needs of a wide range of students has been an enriching experience.

我在维多利亚大学的学习期间我为视觉传达设计专业做了一年的助教老师。主要教文字设计和品牌包装。作为一名助教老师我仔细观察每一个学生并且根据每个学生的特点因材施教。

 

Currently, I am working as a freelance graphic designer. I am taking job offers from different countries. I have mastered the related software, and I am confident with my graphic design skills and high aesthetic perspective.

现在我是一名自由设计师。我从全球各地接收设计订单。我对所有相关的设计软件的使用都十分有自信。

 

Before I came to New Zealand, I have one year’s experience in advertising and branding. I also did a one-year of communication design research in Japan. I worked with Masaaki Hiromura, who is the designer designed pictograms for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. New Zealand is an international country, especially in recent years, the number of customers in the Asian market has increased. I think my language ability and cultural background will help at the same time.
